The back story

When DeRay Cole was a small boy, he’d follow his grandmothers into the Arkansas cotton fields every day. While most women filled a seven-foot sack, Ma Ma’s sack held nine feet of cotton. She worked harder than anyone else in the field. So began a lifetime of love and affection between a woman born a generation past slavery and her favorite grandson. Like many black men, Cole modeled his work ethic and dedication to his family on his grandmother’s undying strength, faith, and tenderness. DeRay received his BS Degree from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and a Masters’ Degree from Washington State University before joining a multi-national corporation. Speaking Engagements

DeRay Cole is an inspiring speaker who has been invited to address groups that range from book fairs to college commencements; from elementary school children to business organizations. Scholarship Endowment

As a measure of how important education is to DeRay Cole, 10% of all profits from purchases made of Mama's products will be donated to the DeRay Cole Family Award Scholarship Endowment Fund. The endowment fund is used to provide scholarships for first-generation students who are rising freshmen, majoring in business at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff - DeRay Cole's alma mater.
